This creating a webpage tutorial is broken down into a 2 series step-by-step guide. The first series of the guide is an overview of what a well optimize, visitor friendly web page should look like. We will also go over how to build your home page as well what goes into your other web pages. The first half of this guide will show you how to write and effective page title, choose the meta keywords, and write your site description. While the seond half or second series of this guide talks about the web pages body content.
I will first show you how to build your home page, your other sub web pages will have a similar building structure as your home page but with a few more optimization addons than your home page would have. So let’s begin with your home page.
Your Home Page Main Objective
The main objective of your home page is to promote your website and its content. Your home page will focus on one main website niche (a.k.a. your primary keyword).
Remember that your home page is the first page that the search engine spiders and your website visitors see. You must prove to your visitors that your site has the answers to what ever they are looking for, and it’s worth their time. You must over deliver on your product and/or information.
Remember that search engine spiders have to follow the algorithm it was created on. For human visitors, we have emotions, and emotions play a big part in our decision making. If they feel your site is the best, no other site will matter, they’ll just keep coming back.
For the search engines you must show it that your website content is relevant to your page title, keywords and site description. For example; you saw a blog created by Bill Gates, automatically, you assume that because it was written by a software genius, that the information he wrote is the best in the world. If Bill, doesn’t optimize his website, the search engine will not know what his site is all about and not give him a proper ranking, it doesn’t care who Bill is.
Keyword Suggestion Tip: If your home page is about 5 paragraphs long, make sure to place your primary keyword in the opening paragraph, middle paragraph and in the closing paragraph. Don’t keep your paragraph short, make it about 5 to 8 sentences long.
That way it won’t look like your keyword stuffing your page. Make sure to sprinkle your other keywords into the body text. The main key is to make your paragraph sound and look 100% natural.
The overall layout of your homepage as well as your sub pages have 3 sections; a header, body and footer. The header section of your home page holds the page title, keywords, site description and meta tags. The body section of your home page houses your page headline, body text, links, vids and images. The footer section enables you to add links, small site info and also Google Analytics.
The first thing we are going to talk about is what goes into your header. This guide will teach you how to create an eye catching page title; tell you how many keywords to use; how to write your website description, and add other meta tags that are useful for other the search engines.
Now that you have a basic understanding on how to build a home page, lets start building yours. The first section of the home page we are going to create is the Page Title, Keywords and Site Description. The second section of your website consist of your body text, and third section, is your website footer.
