How amateurs should write or create a web page.

The best way to capture your visitors attention is to over deliver on your content. Your web page should not seem to long, at the same time not appear to short. If you are faced with a long page. You can shorten that page by breaking it into a series of pages. A normal web page would have anywhere between 4 to 8 paragraphs.

The key to writing your web page is to break down your page into three sections. You should dedicate the first section as your introduction. Describe what this page is all about and make sure that your primary keyword is towards the front of the first sentence as much as possible. You must give your readers a reason to read the first sentence and also why they should continue beyond the first paragraph.

The second section of your web page should consist of the body content of your page. It typically holds 2 to 7 paragraphs. This section of your body text should hold your primary keyword and your secondary keywords as well. Make it a habit to practice writing your sentence as if you’re actually talking to the visitor directly, and not writing to them.

Another good technique to use when writing sentences is to use the following format. Long sentences like this one should be followed by shorter sentences. See what I mean. This way your visitors will not be compel to stop reading and move on to other sites. Visitors on the web hate reading for long periods of time. Also, you should keep your paragraphs to about 4 to 8 lines per paragraph. Keeping it short and simple makes for easy reading and your page will look neat. Trust me, your visitors will be happy.

As you write your content keep your keyword density and prominence in mind. The amount of keywords you use and the place where your keywords are found, plays a big part in your optimization. The amount of words you use in your web page will determine how often can you use your primary and secondary keywords.

Most experts will have about a 6% keyword density. Keyword density is measured or calculated using the following format. Take the number of words in your body text and divide it by the number of times you use your main keyword. For example, if you wrote a 600 word article and you use your main keyword 18 times, here is how the formula would look like 18/600=0.03. That means the your keyword density is 3%. In this case you can add more primary keyword to your content. Remember don’t go over 6%.

As for keyword prominence, you should always place your primary keywords towards the beginning of the paragraph and sprinkle your secondary keywords around all the paragraphs. If for some reason your primary keyword doesn’t blend in with the first sentence, use a secondary keyword. It is important to make sure that your sentences have a natural phrase as if you’re talking not writing.

Now let’s talk about the third section of your web page and that is the summary. Your summary paragraph should not be long at all. Keep it between 3 to 5 sentences and no longer that 4 lines in that paragraph. Here is what you should include in your summary. Your primary keyword and if possibly your secondary keyword should be included. Secondly, summarize your entire page into a few sentences to remind your readers what they just read. Third, you must remember to make it short, informative and to the point.

Your summary should also have links pointing to other related pages. You can achieve this by recommending other relevant pages in your website that you think your visitors will also find interesting. 3 to 5 pages should be enough. Linking to other web pages with in your website increases your search engine optimization efforts, at the same time, help promote other valuable content that your visitors might have missed.

I totally agree with this article. Thanks for sharing this knowledge with everyone. I really like the long sentence followed by a shorter one. That way it will ease the reader instead of boring them to death with long sentences. As far as the links are concern, how many links to internal pages and external pages do you recommend.

Would you be so kind to recommend other pages that I might have missed. You see, I wanted to build my blog but I just don’t feel like I wanted to settle with just one niche. I like writing about all kinds of things and subjects.

First off, thanks for the comment. As for recommendations, you can take a look at my popular pages located to the right. There you will find pages that are constantly visited and are considered to be my most popular pages. Also, if you are not worry about SEO or making money online, it wont hurt if you want to write about multiple niche topics. If your intention is to make money online, then relevancy is a big part of it. It’s best that you focus on one central theme. Now if your blog is nothing more than a hobby or a place to log down your thoughts, then by all means go for it. I hope this helps, if you need more information please send me a message.
